Coffees of Papua New Guinea

Welcome to an extraordinary coffee journey through the picturesque plantations of Papua New Guinea. The coffee story of Papua New Guinea dates back over 120 years, when the German colonial administration introduced the first coffee beans to these tropical lands. Thanks to the ideal soil conditions, altitudes above sea level, and climate, Papua New Guinea became one of the main coffee producers in the country, where nearly half of the rural households participate in its cultivation.

In our shop, we offer selected coffee beans of both Arabica, and Robusta originating from Papua New Guinea. The dominant variety is Arabica, making up 95% of the coffee production in the region, known for its exceptional taste qualities. Grown in high-altitude areas, especially in the provinces of Morobe, Eastern, Simbu and Western Highlands, the Arabica coffee from Papua New Guinea is valued for its deep fullness of taste and complex aromatic profile.

A small part of the production is Robusta coffee, mainly grown in the lowlands in the Sepik region, known for its stronger taste and higher caffeine content. We also offer coffees certified as organic and Fair Trade, which reflects our commitment to promoting sustainable coffee production and supporting local communities.
