Meet the premium coffee from Ethiopia, Guji region coffee heritage.
The Ethiopian coffee we are pleased to present to you comes from the Jiratamo plantation, located in the Guji region. This is a semi-forest plantation where the coffee plants grow freely among the trees in the jungle, receiving basic maintenance such as pruning and removing damaged branches to improve their health. With limited human intervention, the coffee is certified organic. Coffee from Jiratamo plantations is a natural Arabica coffee variety collectively referred to as Heirlooms. Ethiopia is the cradle of coffee and coffee often grows there as a plant in the wild outside of plantations. Coffee crops mixed with forest allow the coffee to gain natural protection from the sun, hence Ethiopia's Guji and Jiratamo coffees are referred to as shade-grown coffees.
Coffee from Ethiopia is one of those must-have coffees at Sochaccy.Co. Ethiopia is a natural wealth of organic coffee, without which we cannot imagine Sochaccy Coffee Roastery.
The Jiratamo plantation fields are located in the Dawa River basin, about 460 kilometers from Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, in the Guji Oromia zone. Jiratamo coffee farming is distinguished by its responsible approach to sustainable development goals, which includes concern for local community development and environmental protection. The company holds multiple certifications from Organic EU, NOP / USDA and JAS. The plantations lie between 1,770 and 2,100 meters above sea level. The cultivation area is 420 hectares; the coffee was harvested by hand during the months of November-December. After harvesting, the coffee was processed to remove the top part of the berry, using a full washing method and drying in the sun.
Among the flavor notes of the Ethiopia Guji Jiratamo, notes of black forest berry come to the forefront, as do flavors of black tea and flowers; all wrapped in an overpowering citrus sweetness. The coffee is perfect for espresso or the classic coffee machine; in a light roast, it's worth trying in a drip or Chemex.
