Central America is a fascinating and diverse region of the world Coffee growing in Central America stretches from Mexico through Guatemala, Ecuador, Honduras and Nicaragua to Panama. It is the heart of the equatorial zone, the so-called Coffee Belt, which runs across the globe to a depth of +30 degrees from the equator. An area of high volcanic mountains, mineral-rich soil and ancient forests with clear divisions between wet and dry seasons.

Central American coffee has an exceptional richness of flavor, similar in diversity to its native Ethiopia, but that's not the only similarity. Central American coffee is similar to Ethiopia. The conditions in which coffee grows; the soil, the climate and the weather. When we say similarity in flavor diversity, we're referring primarily to the altitude of the plantation and the volcanic soil on which the coffee is grown. The region's coffees, like those from Ethiopia, are selected with great regularity at various world competitions to be among the world's best coffees.

Central American coffee is for everyone, though not everyone should start their fresh-roasted coffee adventure with this growing region. Central American coffee has just the right amount of acidity, which balances the flavors of honey, caramel and milk chocolate. It's sweet but the acidity in it keeps the coffee from being boring. The most common phrases used to describe the taste of coffee from this region are balanced, bright and clean flavor.
