The history of coffee in Jamaica dates back to the early 18th century, when the first coffee plantations appeared on the island. Today, coffee from Jamaica still enjoys a reputation as one of the best in the world. It is characterized by a delicate, mild flavor, with notes of chocolate, nuts and flowers, and has low acidity and a full body. Coffee from the Blue Mountains region is particularly prized for its unique growing conditions, such as the altitude of the plantation, the terrain and the unique climate.
