Brazil Alta Mogiana is the Innovative Heart of Traditional Brazilian Coffee

Brazil Alta Mogiana coffee comes from the Alta Mogiana region located on the border of the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo, a bastion of coffee tradition where coffee cultivation dates back 200 years. Covering 8 municipalities from Minas Gerais and 15 from São Paulo, Alta Mogiana is distinguished by an average altitude of 800-1000 meters and a tropical climate with temperatures of 21°C in summer and 17°C in winter. These are ideal conditions for Arabica coffee, combining history, tradition and a passion for cultivation.

Development and Impact of the Railroad on Coffee

The origins of the Alta Mogiana region date back to 1880, linked to the development of the railroad, which facilitated the transportation and movement of coffee. The region's name comes from its geographic classification - Baixa, Média, Alta Mogiana, meaning low, medium and high. Railroad development encouraged urbanization and coffee cultivation, becoming a key component of the economy. Increased immigration, mainly from Italy, contributed to growing production and a burgeoning coffee culture.

Brazil Alta Mogiana Today: Quality and Innovation

Today, Alta Mogiana, located 400 kilometers from the capital Minas Gerais, produces coffees that exceed 85 points in classification tests. Municipalities such as Claraval, Cássia, and Itamogi, with small but modern and technologically advanced plantations, are innovating while maintaining traditional farming methods. Highways have replaced railroads as the main means of transportation, carrying Alta Mogiana's "green gold" to various corners of Brazil.

Alta Mogiana's Brazilian Designation of Origin: a Guarantee of Quality and Uniqueness

The pursuit of the highest quality coffee inspired producers to create Alta Mogiana Specialty Coffee (AMSC), an advisory organization for producers to promote best practices and protect the identity of specialty coffees. As a result, coffee from Alta Mogiana is not only protected, but also recognized worldwide for its distinctive aroma and flavor.

    Excellence in Every Cup

Alta Mogiana is a region where tradition and modernity work together to create excellent coffees - from commercial to specialty. Become part of this history and experience the unique taste of Alta Mogiana coffee, valued both nationally and internationally. Come to our store to discover the richness of flavors and aromas that this extraordinary region offers.
