      Colombia Huila Supremo Freshly Roasted Arabica Artisan Coffee Bean.

      Colombia Huila Supremo EP Fair Trade coffee, comes from southwestern Colombia, near the town of San Augustin - small family farms located in the coffee-intensive Huila region of Colombia. The region is characterized by distinctly different wet and dry seasons, which affects the entire process of both harvesting and subsequent drying of the coffee. The combination of the high altitude at which the coffee crops are located, good irrigation and volcanic soil makes it the best starting point for an adventure in Colombian coffees. The main harvest takes place between April and August and the secondary harvest between December and February (the so-called "small" harvest). Owners of small coffee plantations, usually remove the top part of the coffee tree using the "wet"(washed) method at their local processing stations, called mills. After the removal of the top part of the coffee fruit, the process of drying in the sun follows. The coffee is dumped on special raised beds lined with mesh, so that there is air access to the beans from below.

      The term Supremo is the name given to coffee beans of a certain size (scr 18+). Supremo coffee beans are a category of the largest beans in Colombian coffees, after Maragogype. Supremo coffee beans, undergo a stricter quality selection than Colombia Excelso coffee beans, and may come from a single plantation or even the same tree. Typically, larger beans are seen as higher quality beans, and there are fewer of them than small beans hence Colombia Supremo is often considered a higher quality coffee. The very word Supremo in Latin means Supreme.

      The Colombia Huila Supremo specila coffee arrived at our Sochaccy Artisan Coffee Roasters from plantations located at elevations of over 1,800 meters above sea level. The area is planted with Caturra and Typica varieties.

      Freshly roasted coffee from our coffee shop offers a rich sweet chocolate aroma. Flavor notes of toffee, peach, apricot. Medium lime (bright) acidity with good body. Sweet, fruity finish - a well-balanced coffee.
