Ethiopia Reserved Guji Coffee - Essence of Flavor from the Guji Region of Ethiopia.
EthiopiaReserved Guji is an exceptional bean coffee from the picturesque Guji region in Oromia province, near Uraga, Ethiopia. It is grown at altitudes between 1,900 and 2,200 meters above sea level, in fertile volcanic soils that favor the development of coffee with a unique flavor profile. The Guji region, although for years overshadowed by Ethiopia's better-known coffee areas such as Yirgacheffe and Sidamo, is now gaining recognition for producing coffees of exceptional quality and flavor complexity.
100% Arabica - Bourbon and Typica varieties
Our coffee is 100% Arabica, Bourbon and Typica varieties, which are prized around the world for their excellent flavor characteristics. The beans undergo the traditional natural processing method, which involves drying the whole coffee fruit in the sun. This process preserves the full aromas and gives the coffee its characteristic sweet flavor profile. Thanks to careful selection and processing, this coffee has earned a high score of 86 on the SCA scale, a testament to its exceptional quality.
Taste Profile and Sensory Evaluation of Ethiopia Reserved Guji
Sochaccy'sEthiopia Reserved Guji is a specialty coffee that impresses with its richness and complexity of flavors. The aroma and flavor are dominated by notes of berries, which give the coffee a fruity character. Delicate hints of coffee blossom bring subtlety and elegance, while vanilla adds sweetness and depth. The whole is complemented by a long, sweet finish that lingers on the palate, inviting you to take another sip. The coffee has medium acidity, a full body and a balanced flavor profile, making it an ideal choice for both espresso and alternative methods such as chemex or aeropress.
Guji Region - Tradition and Exceptional Conditions
The Guji region, located in southern Ethiopia, is part of the Oromia province and has been inhabited by the Oromo people for centuries. Traditionally, the people of the region engaged in pastoralism, but in recent decades there has been a transformation toward agriculture, including coffee cultivation. With fertile soils and a favorable climate, Guji has become one of Ethiopia's key coffee-producing regions. For years inaccessible to the world due to its gold and gemstone deposits, the region only opened up to coffee exports in recent decades, gaining international recognition.
