Nicaragua La Bastilla San Pedro Freshly Roasted Arabica Beans Coffee

Nicaragua, located in Central America, although one of the smaller countries in the region, its coffee is a true global powerhouse in the specialty coffee category. The country, famous for its high volcanic mountains and its location between two oceans, has a rich history from which coffee farmers draw. The name Nicaragua comes from the words "Nicarao" and "agua," meaning "water," and the name of a tribe that inhabited the area before the arrival of Europeans.

Nicaragua's tourist attractions include the Mombacho volcano, Lake Nicaragua and Masaya National Park. The country is also known for the work of Rubén Darío, considered Nicaragua's most recognizable poet and journalist. As an ambassador of Nicaraguan culture, Rubénem Darío has helped promote Nicaraguan coffee.

Coffee came to Nicaragua from the Antilles Islands. The first plantation was established in Matagalpa, the birthplace of Rubénem Darío, by José Antonio Urrelo, governor of the province in 1804. Coffee has become an important part of Nicaraguan culture, where residents appreciate high-quality arabica coffee grown at altitudes above 1,000 meters above sea level. The country has many coffee-growing regions, including Matagalpa, Jinotega and Nueva Segovia.

    Jinotega coffee growing region

The Nicaraguan coffee we present to you comes from the La Bastilla plantation, located in the Jinotega region. Adjacent to the plantation is Bosawás National Park, which is one of the largest areas of protected tropical forest in Central America. The park is famous for its biodiversity and many endemic plant and animal species.

Farmers in the region take care of the environment by using sustainable coffee farming methods, which translates into the exceptional quality of the coffee. The volcanic soils, rich in minerals such as potassium, phosphorus and magnesium, promote the development of

How to order coffee from an online coffee shop?

When ordering coffee from an online coffee shop, it is worth paying attention to several important points. First of all, it's a good idea to order quantities of coffee for a maximum of 2 weeks and in packages that allow you to pour the whole thing at once into the container in your coffee bean machine or the container in which you store your coffee. Do not store coffee in bags, even those with closures - they are leaky.

If you are starting out with fresh-roasted coffee, choose a medium roast, which provides the most favorable balance of flavor notes. As for the grinding level, it's best to buy coffee beans and grind them just before preparation. However, if you don't have a grinder, choose your preparation method from among the icons.
