Peru Daily and History of Coffee in Peru: Tradition and Craftsmanship
Coffee in Peru has a long history, dating back to the 19th century, when the first seedlings were brought by European settlers. Coffee cultivation quickly rose to prominence, becoming one of the country's main export products. Coffee is grown throughout Peru. There are 10 main coffee-growing areas, which are divided into North (4), Central (3) and South (3). Today, Peru is one of the largest coffee producers in the world, and its diverse growing regions, each with a unique climate and terroir, offer a wide range of flavors. Today's Peruvian coffee plantations are mostly small, family-run farms that continue the tradition of artisanal cultivation, ensuring the highest quality beans.
Growing Peru Daily coffee in the Amazonas region: Unique Conditions and Sustainable Production
The Amazonas region, which is part of the Northern Area, is located in the northeastern part of Peru, where Peru Daily coffee comes from, boasts seven coffee-producing provinces amidst the famous Amazon jungle. The Andes Mountains crisscross the region, with altitudes ranging from 1,250 to 2,000 meters above sea level, creating perfect conditions for coffee cultivation. The small plantations, which often do not exceed 3 hectares, are run by small farmers affiliated with cooperatives. With the support of initiatives such as the Volcafe Way program, involving 181 farmers in the region, they have access to modern cultivation and processing techniques, allowing them to produce the highest quality coffee. The Volcafe Way program supports more than 6,800 farmers in the three main growing regions, providing them with technical advice and monitoring at every stage of production. The beans used to produce Peru Daily coffee come from Arabica varieties such as Catimor, Caturra, Bourbon, Castilla and Java, further guaranteeing their exceptional quality.
Coffee Processing Process: From Harvest to Cup
Peru Daily coffee is carefully processed using the washed method, which preserves the purity of flavor and aroma. After the ripe coffee cherries are hand-harvested, they are thoroughly washed and sun-dried, ensuring that the natural flavors of each bean are fully extracted. Thanks to the use of modern processing methods in stations located in the Amazonas region, this coffee stands out for its exceptional quality, which will satisfy even the most demanding connoisseurs. Classified as Grade 1, this coffee represents the highest standard of quality, making it an ideal choice for everyday use.
