Uganda Mt. Elgon Coffee Freshly Roasted Arabica Coffee Bean Artisan Coffee Roasters.

The coffee we are pleased to present to you comes from Uganda's national park; Mount Elgon National Park. It is about the area of Mount Elgon peak, one half of which is in Uganda and the other already in Kenya - all a short distance from Lake Victoria. Mount Elgon is the oldest volcano in Africa and is believed to have been Africa's highest peak for many years. The combination of high altitude on one hand, mountainous climate and mineral-rich, volcanic soil creates an amazing coffee-growing region in the heart of Africa. Ugandan arabica coffee is conquering world markets before our eyes at a rapid pace. Until recently, Uganda was associated practically only with robusta coffee, but now it is arabica from the slopes of Mount Elgon that is becoming the real showcase of this small country and also the pearl of Africa.

Arabica coffee comes from small, half-hectare farms located on the slopes of the Elgon volcano, at altitudes of 1,100 to 2,200 meters above sea level. The cultivation plots with bushes of the SL 28/34 variety, are located in the shade of banana trees, which protects the bushes, from too much sunlight during the day. At the same time, huge amounts of water coming from the Sipi waterfalls, provide the coffee with the desired moisture. After being picked from the bushes, the coffee undergoes "washed" processing.

The coffee is characterized by a fresh taste, with notes of spicy spices, a delicate touch of red raspberries, light bright acidity and a buttery finish. It is perfect as an espresso coffee.

How does the coffee's roasting level affect its flavor?

The roast level of a coffee has a significant impact on its flavor and aroma. Light roasted beans retain more of their natural acids, which translates into freshness and fruitiness. Medium-roasted beans release sweeter aromas, such as chocolate and caramel, creating a more balanced profile. Darker roasted beans deliver intense, rich notes that are ideal for lovers of strong flavors.
