Ethiopia the home of coffee.
The homeland of coffee is a unique country with a rich history and culture, located in the northeastern part of Africa. Through its diversity of terrain, where you can distinguish mountains, steppes, deserts or tropical forests. A country with a strongly differentiated climate, which gives specific conditions for various crops, and just such a corner of the world, also called the Horn of Africa, became the cradle of coffee. It is there, according to legend - is the place of origin of coffee and it is there that the tradition of drinking it was born. The ancestors of today's Ethiopians - were the first to discover the energizing power of freshly roasted beans on fire, which gave rise to a great wave of "enchantment" with coffee, which continues to this day.
Coffee crops
Ethiopia's true coffee regions are known as "Origin Coffee," or coffee that comes from a specific region or farm. Ethiopia is considered the cradle of coffee, and many different varieties of Arabica come from different regions of Ethiopia. The most well-known coffee regions in Ethiopia are Sidamo, Yirgacheffe and Harar. Sidamo coffee has distinctive floral and citrus notes, Yirgacheffe coffee is sweet and acidic, and Harar coffee is less acidic and has a flavorful berry note. Other coffee regions in Ethiopia include Lekempti, Jimma, Limu, Bebeka, Djimmah and Bench Maji. Each of these regions produces coffee with unique flavor and aroma due to differences in terrain, climate, soil and the way the coffee beans are processed.
